Cultivating Empathy webinar

Deepen Your Relationships By Cultivating Empathy

Would you say you are an empathetic person? Do you tend to see things from other people's perspective or yours? Would you like to learn how to be more empathetic?

It is said, and it is true that people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care. Often, it is not so much as being right, as doing right.

If there is something we all have in common, it is the need to feel loved, valued and understood. We want others to identify with us and often feelings of loneliness can stem from the perception that on one understands us.

Can you however honestly say you do the same for others? How do you handle it when there is an arguement or a nearest and dearest exhibits unusual behaviours that throw you completely off guard?

Trying to understand others from your perspective rarely works and only leads to more tension and frustration. However when we learn to put ourselves in their shoes, then we are able to identify gaps that may have been overlooked, and we are able to arrive at a solution quicker.

Empathy is a skill, and like any other skill, it can be cultivated. So whether you consider yourself naturally empathetic or not, you can improve your empathy skills!

This is what my next webinar, Cultivating Empathy webinar, holding on Thursday, February 3rd at 1:00 pm GMT is designed to achieve. During this experience, you will learn the techniques necessary to cultivate and improve your empathic abilities.

A Skill Like No Other

When thinking about empathy, I’m reminded of a famous quote by Roman Emperor, Marcus Aurelius, “Whenever you are about to find fault with someone, ask yourself the following question: What fault of mine most nearly resembles the one I am about to criticize?”

Passing judgment comes too easily while learning to recognize and alter judgment takes work.

Empathy has been identified as one of the essential skills needed to succeed both in personal and professional relationships. It is however often undervalued and underdeveloped, but just imagine what a world without empathy would look like. Think about what happens when you feel misunderstood - anger, resentment, frustration, and lashing out all probably come to mind. Empathy is needed for creating harmonious, meaningful relationships.
